A wall light has been changed to a vintage wire basket with vase. Ladies and gentlemen, this is exactly what you will hear me talking about in the following lines and paragraphs! Interested? No? Ah, come on, how bad can it be? Please stay for I almost stole this fixture and you have to listen to the story.
So it goes like this. One sultry afternoon, me and a friend, bored and fatigued from the overdose of useless marketing information decide to hit the terrace for some fresh air. And guess what we find there? A lighting fixture on the terrace floor, dirty and discarded. A lighting fixture that has seen better days and once upon a time used to look like this:
Although it was discarded, we were not sure whether or not we could pick things up from the office complex and not get caught in the beeper. So we kept that dirty extreme thing in my bag and walked past the beeper. Surprisingly, it did not beep. Hah, methinks it only beeps for things that are new are being taken. Anyway, part 2 was worse. Washing it in the office loo.
With a zillion eyes watching us, we smartly did the job like its been assigned to us and continued with our second half of the day. The next oceans series will feature us I’m telling you. We can do the most unlikeliest of jobs, in the most unlikeliest of places with an attitude that’s naturally convincing and undoubtedly discreet.
Once home, I took out the rim from top, unscrewed it from the main frame and took the glass out from it.
After dismantling the light, I attached a small iron handle- you can get them ready made from any hardware store. Costs about a $ and a half.
I painted the handle white and left the rusted wire basket as it is for I loved how it looked.
Emptied a mayo can and threw some wild flowers in it!
As for the glass case within the wire frame, I have separate plans for it.
Smart or whatever?
What have you untrashified today?
