Hey y’all! Feeling good? As fresh as new and like dew drops? Excellent. I am sleepy as a bud in the evening but this needs to be told. This post is “self proclaimed important” which should be sent out to decor enthusiast across the world immediately. Why? I don’t know. I have these moments where I must do what I want to do and when I want to do it. So, here I am writing a post at exact 1:01 A.M in the night about a lampshade makeover. How religious of me. Come now, tell me I am passionate about home decor. Praise me a bit. Please. You will lose nothing if you throw me a kind word or two.
Michelle from emeraldcove made herself a wonderful lampshade out of a pillow case, simply by ripping it in strips and tying knots. I heart her home, her style, her work, her drift woods. Umm, yeah, I liked this so much that I copy-catted it. (hmm-yeah-come on-it’s called being inspired.) And yes, they are easy, fun to make and radically transforms pretty much any lampshade carcass that you might want to throw away. Here’s my before.
I know you can’t tell how fugly it had become over time but believe me. I wont rip off a handsome leather lampshade just like that. It developed spots, was getting cracked and was falling apart. Btw, the table also went through a transformation. about that later. This morning, I ripped it to its carcass and did what Michelle did and also mentioned in her tutorial. Spot on. That girl’s got style. I’m yet to get a proper base for my lamp and Im hunting for one but the shade is now done. I’m also thinking of adding some little hanging crystals. Think that would look good? Open to advice. For now, I am more than happy with the result.
head over to Michelle to check her beautiful coastal home. She is one very talented young lady.
Here’s to you a great weekend and keep dreaming of the blue sea.
