Winter is not winter unless your ‘special’ winter stuff is out.

No, really. It’s not a Hyggeligt winter unless those winter Hygge essentials are not out on the prowl. I love to samet-o everything the minute it’s November, and force myself to feel winter in a city that throws in a 20 once in a while, when its in really good mood. I love all that jazz. Haha…Okay before you wonder what sameto is, it is a Hindi word to “gather yourself” and boy do I gather and gear up for the cold season. And you know what? Half the fun of winter is just that. Atleast for me. A checkered duvet, some red striped linen, a fleece pajama, the big,big mugs, Christmassy socks and ofcourse a good old, festive teapot that holds a gallon of tea or hot chocolate- Winter is just not #CozyWinter unless a few of my favourite things are out.

When I spoke of a #cozywinter home edit early this season, I meant to put down everything that defines the cosiness of winter and Christmas. It’s not just fabric and decor but also collectibles, Heirlooms and gifts. And how can this campaign ever be legit without the addition of that one, singlemost important thing in our/my life- A teapot!

Christmas and the Holiday season demands a special teaset and I cannot look beyond this beautiful teaset by The Decor Kart. Graceful, minimal and pouring festive from every pore with that timeless reindeer motif that’s all set to be an Heirloom- this teaset is just it. You know one of those season’s specials that you look forward to use every Christmas and it becomes sort of a tradition to have Christmas morning tea in that? It’s one of those! Made from fusion of Porcelain and Bone China and painted with 22 Carat Gold painted handles and rims- this is stuff fine tea dreams are made of. Or Gourmet Hot chocolate dreams are made of. Nothing less.

To celebrate a teaset of this grandeur I have two super easy Hot Chocolate recipe that the young and old can use- one’s spiced and the other- spiked! Perfect for cranking a bit of Bill Cosby and let the spirit flow through you on Christmas eve or morning. Ready? Hop on

Gourmet Hot Chocolate Recipe in a fine porcelain and 22 carat gold rimmed teaset

Equals to double the joy! First up, for the toddlers and teetotalers- a lovely spiced Hot chocolate.

Spiced Hot Chocolate Recipe

4 cups milk
1/4 cup Dutch-processed unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsp Hershey’s chocolate syrup
A pinch of nutmeg
A pinch of cayenne
optional toppings: whipped cream, marshmallows and sprinklers

How To Stir up the perfect Spiced Hot Chocolate

Ideally, you could mix everything in a medium saucepan and let it come to a boil, except the Hersheys. But I kind of like to boil everything with 2 cups of milk first and then add the rest. I don’t know whyty- I am just used to doing it that way. Once mixed, I add Hershey’s at last, get it slightly cooler before adding whipped cream, marshmallows and sprinklers.

And now for the grown ups! A lovely whiskey spiked Hot Chocolate that uses lemon zest and is outright brilliant.

Whiskey Hot chocolate with Lemon Zest

I use the same recipe for the hot chocolate

4 cups milk
1/4 cup Dutch-processed unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsp Hershey’s chocolate syrup
4 fl. oz. whiskey {Use a nice one please}
1 tsp fresh orange zest
Marshmallows

Prepare hot chocolate as above, and take off heat. Add whiskey, marshmallows and a pinch of orange zest on top. Believe me, this is the best kind of boozey hot chocolate you’ll ever have. Honestly, I could not take a picture of this because I had very little time but I promise I will upload this over the weekend.

I am on a holiday from tomorrow till after Christmas and I am guessing I will finally find some time to sip into a boozy Christmassy Hot Chocolate and take photographs too without running late for work.

It’s 10 days to Christmas so go along and get your self that cuppa. Or best in a fine porcelain tea cup, and turn your teatime soiree into a delish, Hyggeligt evening.
