Devil’s food cake? Evident that the devil once belonged to heaven. The cake stands as a testimony!

Dramatic, sinful, red, luscious and intriguing: A perfect combination to be called ‘the sinful tempting little thing’.  Devil’s own cake, as it is called, “The Dictionary of American Food and Drink” describes it as ‘Devil’s Food Cake’ owing to its rich and delicious nature that according to moralists must be to some extent sinful. To me it seems more like a beauty on its own. A thing that is beautiful in its own way for no reason. Like Marilyn Monroe or Rita Hayworth. Or for that matter of fact, a delicious looking plum colored lipstick or even a freshly plucked plum.

Infused with a mild chocolate flavor and pristine white frosting, this is honestly a treat. I was in a hurry to taste so, I topped it with a little melted white chocolate and granulated sugar. You can try a fluffy white frosting to get the best of this little devil. Oh, excusez moi, the devil’s food cake.
