I’ve been wanting to make these aqua vintage glass jars so badly! And tell you what? One should make them ‘coz they give any wee corner such a brilliant look. Stud them with flowers or with some vanilla pods or lavender bunch. I just cannot get over them. Best part is, mine are washable, inside out!
Turquoise Ink- any. Fountain pen ink, sketch pen ink, food color or any color that does not have a latex base. Acrylic paints would not work. You can mix two parts of blue to one part of green if turquoise is not available.
White glue that dries clear- again, any.
A thick brush
Clear varnish
Procedure
Clean your jars with soap water and dry thorough
To about a tablespoon of glue mix two drops of turquoise ink
Mix thoroughly and with help of a brush paint the glass jars on the outside
Let it dry for at least an hour before giving it a coat of clear varnish
Let dry for a day and you’re ready to flaunt them.
Washing instructions: Cold water rinse only and a light sponge would be perfect.
Hope you all had a productive weekend and hope you all have a super creative week ahead.
Roy

Hahaha, I completely understand your gung-ho dialect. Was the just the same a couple of days before you see!
So pretty! Who would have thought you could make these pretty glasses. Great technique and great instructions! Fun stopping by to visit with you!
Kindly, Lorraine
Thank you for stopping by Lorraine. This was such a fun project.
It’s sooo gorgeous! I recently aquired four blue ball jars, and I love them, they’re a bit darker than your photos show, but I think they look smashing filled with flowers!
Can you tell I’m jealous of you? 🙂 Ideally I would love to have blue ball jars but till then this knock off seems quite apt.
They look so pretty. Your photos are lovely too.
Best wishes for a happy Wednesday!
Natasha.
Thank you natasha. A very happy Wednesday to you too. Thanks to these blog parties and amazing bloggers that we dont feel the midweek crisis anymore 🙂
They look very pretty, especially teamed with the colours of the flowers and other little things you’ve shown.
Thank You Janice. Yeah, I kind of thought my pink top would be a good prop. 😛
These turned out beautifully!!
Thanks for visiting my blog,
Ashlyn
Oh! Thanks Ashlyn. Thanks for visiting mine 🙂
These are so cool. I have hundreds of glass jars that I won’t throw out and I could do something fun like this.
Oh Tammy, go on! They are addictive. My next batch would be old lavender.
These are gorgeous, and these are such a beauty turquoise color. So simple to do, I have blue jars, and are lov.er.ly, but these are too. Love how they look the elegance of flowers in side. I don’t use my jars often enough in decorating! thanks so much for stopping by and letting me know you like my French Coffee Lamp. As you know, it’s great to get feedback!
Thank you Cathy. Well, I had no choice but to comment and let you know that I went absolutely gung ho over it. And yes, it’s always a pleasure to get feedback. Good, bad suggestions, anything. You know I sometimes wonder how the world would have been without terrific bloggers and DIY-ers! I shiver at the thought 🙂
Excellent, I have been wanting to try this but have been put off by the non waterproof ones, will have to try your way now!
Well, yeah, even I was quite put off by the fact that I cannot wash them. But then the idea of clear varnish struck. Go on..give it a try! You’ll love them.
Great, Fabulous Idea!…..I’m liking your blog!
Thank you Wendy 🙂 Im now at yours!
This is too cool. I love it! Thank you for sharing!
Oh, Thanks Kristin. I’ve been over to your blog. I loved it!
I think you are the first to add the clear varnish to make them washable! Thanks so much for sharing at Sunday’s Best =)
🙂 Kind of yeah! I mean came to me as a common sense. Lol.
