Bold Lover, never, never canst thou kiss,
Though winning near the goal yet, do not grieve;
She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss,
For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair!

That’s me. When I see modern minimalistic home decor products Online.

I almost instantaneously add things to cart {because hey I can afford the price! Halleluiah} until I proceed to the final checkout where reality in the form of ‘shipping’ patiently waits for me to sarcastically smile and say, “hey, how you doin?” Shipping, you barf. It instantly builds that glass wall between me and my lover {Insert Ekta kapoor’s terrible choice of music}; making me see it vanish and yearn forever. And unlike Keat’s Ode to Grecian Urn, She does fade. Two months and she is kaput. The whole blog land has that and I don’t. So what do I do? I? Ah, I! Though winning near the goal yet, do not grieve. Pat in the back, tea in my cup, God dammit shipping, hey kitty, life’s good.

Thank God, this is 2018. Thank God, we now have very cool brands doing modern minimalistic right here in our neck of woods. And Thank God, I can now smile on shipping and say, ‘Hey, how you doin?’ Don’t you love that rug? I know. I know!

Allow me to introduce you to The Nascent

brings us beautiful, modern minimalistic home decor right here in India and their products are giving me serious Swedish home goals. Now, I for one have been waiting for this kinda Scandinavian invasion for long and I shall proclaim bluntly that I will be an active member of this party.

Modern Minimalistic and absolutely gorgeous: Say hello to The Nascent

Aishwarya Jain, an interior designer by profession and a design enthusiast, heads The Nascent, and I love everything in there. And when I say everything- I mean everything. Aishwarya and I spoke about doing a fun shoot for 3 of her products and guess what? Two of them aren’t going back with her. I bought them! I really didn’t need a rug and a throw. But I NEEDED THAT RUG AND THAT THROW. For once I could see no blasted face of shipping and I just couldnt. I had to!

Haha, so yeah, I love their product that much and I am so hopeful of The Nascent. Absolutely love those Scandi colours and Hyggelight fabric and vibes going on in there and it’s probably the only place in India right now that has a collection of modern minimalistic, Scandi home accessory, in its truest sense, under one roof.

The throw I tell you is so so gorgeous! It’s thickly woven but has the softest texture. The pom poms are right up my heart and sleeve and plays off the vibe in my home so well. And I also absolutely have to put in a word for the flatweave rug and the pouf too- the pouf is fully embroidered and is sturdy but not hard. The rug is cotton, modern, easy to wash and well…straight out of Pinterest. In the coming months, you’ll see a lot more of the throw and the rug- thanks to them now belonging to the lady herself. Booyah! Hey shipping, I am talking to you!

Right now, the inventory is small because she just started off but I wanted to put in a word because when The Nascent flies high, I want you to remember that you read it here first. And mark my words, The Nascent is about to be proliferating, because I don’t know who else does modern minimalistic this good here. You will find bits and pieces in Amazon and Pepperfry but if there has to be one place you will specifically visit to get your global, scandi home decor fix- The Nascent will be it. Take a look at their instagram account and you’ll believe me.

So yeah, you now know where I am buying my things from and you can follow me on instagram to get more real time updates as I do stories with my new found loves.

Have yourself a happy little midweek!

Love
Rukmini
